Opalec vs Inretech

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

Hmmmmmm ... I missed commenting on this earlier: The need for the repeatability of results in scientific theory means the need for independent tests by others using their own aparatus to repeat the results within a small amount of explainable error.

If person "A" "proves" experimentally a particular type of filament is exhibiting an effect that causes current to decrease when voltage is increased (negative resistance), rather than the expected effect of current merely rising at a slower rate than it would with a fixed resistance, then persons "B" thru "Z" should be able to see that same effect.

If they do, the test is proved, and theory can be advanced to explain it. If not, then there was a flaw in the original testing, and it can be examined so the error can be eliminated.

See "Cold Fusion."

Assume the measurements are correct.

Fine. The minimag lithium vs. alkaline charts just aren't very useful, since when I put lithium batts in a minimag, it's a hell of a lot brighter than with alkalines.

No theory required, no industry experience required.

And, as soon as Inretech has some stock to ship me (please, please!), I look forward to enjoying both mods.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I would agree with that, and it makes me wonder if the rest of the data on the chart is any more useful.

I trust each curve alone well enough. They make sense at least. I just don't trust them compared to each other. I'll blame it on the switch, blackening bulbs, and the irregular beam pattern of the minimag. Or something like that.

I would love graphs I trust, but at least the product, from what I hear, is good. I hear mine are shipping soon <bouncing in seat>. Can't wait to compare the white to the cyan...then maybe I can decide which Trilight adapter to order

This thread has been very enlightening for me. It proves that if you take something that is not true and post it on the internet, that makes it true.

The Cyan is a real nice color, bright - but for a all around general purpose use, White is the best

Please excuse my absence for the last couple of days, a family member died - and it has been tough

White is nice, but I'm almost hoping I prefer cyan, since then I could quit having to deal with the wide range of pseudo-white luxeons. There's something uniquely repulsive about that green they came up with.

Guess what I found lying around the floor where I work? A true museum piece, a HP200(C, I think) oscillator. Has two 10W GE bulbs in it next to some opaque black electron tubes.

With sympathy,

Can you get the OSC ?
I would be interested in it

If you like, I could send you both colors and let you just return the one you didn't like
