orange/yellow lasers on special

Well, I've already got two orange/yellow lasers, so I don't feel that overpowering urge to buy another.

Just so everyone (new people) are clear, reputable sellers have orange/yellow lasers on sale for better than that all the time. :thumbsup:

Not long ago, I purchased a Rigel DPSS orange/yellow laser pointer for $299.00 from LaserGlow.com.
Power output in my particular unit was measured at 1.8312mW (it's rated at 0.6mW to 2.0mW).

I was thinking of buying one but I did a little research first. The laser looks like something from the company in china that almost every reseller gets their lasers from...Changchun New Industries Optoelectronics Technology Co.,Ltd (CNI) which leads me to my little problem. CNI only sells yellow/orange lasers at 0.6mw - 2mw and dragon lasers is selling theirs at 2 - 5mw. I've been lurking around forums and it seems they do get their lasers from CNI.

The thing is...are there really 5mW orange lasers available from CNI or any other manufacturer?

I guess I'll be getting my yellow laser either from laser glow or from a fairly new company, tech lasers...although I think they're being too crazy with their marketing gig, you have to see their site to get what I mean. :naughty:

Sorry, Tech Lasers is another one of the shady places to avoid. Go over to LPF to read all about it. They're just another shell/front for Wicked.

I don't really care much if they are a front, I just care about the product I'll get. Besides, I also thought they were shady at first so I kept bombarding their customer support with questions, I guess you can say I may have tested their patience.

Anyway, bottom line is, I got my laser and it works fine. :twothumbs
