P4 Night Patrol with AW IMR 18650?

I ordered a couple of AW IMR 18650's to run my older NP- just want to confirm that it will be ok to use with what I beleive is the SSC P4- the 18650's I am using now are non protected 2200maH light blue in color.
I know that the IMR's are better in high drain applications- and the NP battery draw s/b approx. 1.4amps. Any advice appreciated.

a protected black AW 18650 2600mah would be optimal in the Night Patrol.
@1.4amps draw, the extra capacity of the Black AW would win out over the
IMR, but the imr would still work fine...it'll just give you less runtime.

Thanks Clint....I know this is silly- but I really like the look of the Red IMR- that and they are cheaper and the chemisty is supposed to be a little bit safer (?). This will be my first AW purchase- but likely not the last from everything I have read here. At 1600 mah I should be able to safely expect to run approx 1 hour. After lots of internal vacillating, I've gone the IMR route - knowing that my capacity is less. Even though AW black lable, protected cells have an excellent record of safety, I just like knowing that with IMR's will never have catastrophic events no matter what the accident might be or due to a PCB failure. The very high current drain capability is a bonus. Here, they outshine the black label cells.

Depending on your history of usage - how many minutes do you typically use the light each night - if the IMR capacity will comfortably satisfy that need, why not go for the higher safety factor? Buy two sets of batteries and rotate them daily.
