Thanks for posting this. I'm trying to get an idea of the differences between the Eiger Rebel beam and the Baltic Seoul beam. Any chance of some beamshots of the two?

In any event, I'm looking forward to reading a lot more about the Eiger.

if i'm thinking correctly, a 30deg optic should yeild a very wide but uniform
spot with little spill. it would be more similar to a 7 led mckinley's large round
spot, than the cut down ims in the baltic.

been thinking about this a while..i'm going to need 3 eigers. :party:
#1 or #2(xlr) 2x LR44 necklace body (shasta/baltic sea)
#8(SP) Ti 10440/AAA keychain (<- would be a very hot seller on cpf if Ti)
#8(SP) in a shasta brass 2xN keychain body

lol, i wish i knew, but i dont work for peak..gotta ask Curt..i was just
daydreaming about interesting combos. :naughty:

10280 would be pretty small too..its about the same size as an N cell..just thinner like a AAA.

About time on the LR44 bodies!! Those were promised last year when I bought some of the other short bodies. Heck, I even purchased a bunch of LR44 batteries before I found out the the LR44 bodies were not actually "available" but "coming soon."
 
Rage - they have a Matterhorn with a 10180 battery compartment...maybe a half inch longer than the Wee, but still tiny.

Thanks MK- I have a nano- and the picture/awesome link that HKJ provided allows for excellent size comparison. I had no idea the 10180 was THAT small.

I included that light in my Small Light Roundup. On my initial picture it is just next to the Wee.

HKJ - I've read your posts/reviews before. They're great! I'm sorry for not even thinking about including them. Great job! BTW, isn't your Matterhorn a single snow LED? The 3 LED head is a shade longer. How long does yours last on a charge. I have an ultra power 3LED model. I've never run it fully down, but I notice moon mode in about 15min. I'm interested in how much more time you get since IIRC the single LED models have a lower drive, which I think would mean longer runtime.

Rage - No problem! A 10180 is the same width as a AAA. It takes about 2.25 10180s to match the height of 1 AAA.

The Matterhorn in the picture is a single snow led, it uses 60mA on NiMH and 85mA on LiIon. The triple led uses 230 mA on NiMH and I did not dare try it on LiIon (I also asked Peak if it was safe, but they did not answer).

I am not going to run my batteries down, it is to hard on them.
 
I carry and use the three LED Matt with the 10280 battery, but only for short blast. The output is about 215 Candela. Led life would be in the tens of hours and there is the danger of Lithium plating within the battery if the battery voltage goes to low.

With the #8 Eiger power level using the Rebel LED the LED life should exceed 5 thousand hours or more at a drive level to the LED of about 380 mA and from the battery of about 500 mA. That LED is rated at 50,000 hours at that drive level. The actual hours will depend on how hot the flashlight is allowed to get. I will have to do a run time test with the 10280 and the different Eiger power levels. The #8 output is 520 Candela or about 100 Lumens. Care must be observed when using these small batteries with extreme outputs as damage could occure to the battery.

When the Eiger is released I would recomend power levels #1 or #2 for use with the 10180 or 1028 batteries. That would be 12 or 18 Lumen outputs, I will do run time reports with the 10280 soon. I need to get some 10180 and 10440 batteries for testing.
