Phoebus?

I don't know much in the way of HID's but the L50 is cheaper and gives you the option of 30W or 50W and is a better buy in my opinion.

That build looks more similar to the Surefire Hellfire style of lights although I have to admit I've never heard of that brand.

If you are thinking about the L50 and have a little patience give me till Friday the 31st. My L50 is currently making it's way down from Battery Junction and is currently in illinois with a delivery date on Wednesday in Texas.

I plan on putting it through it's paces Wednesday/Thursday and Friday at work on Patrol and will try and get a few pictures up as well as a general summary.

Both of the lights shown are greatly exaggerated pricepoints of less expensive Chinese generics but re-badged with the Phoebus name on it. The second light is the notoriously poor quality G&P Scorpion marked up 3X and the first is a renamed generic light that Microfire has based it's new model on. This retailer is obviously counting on uniformed buyers and has to be one of the worst cases of mark-up and rebadging I've ever seen. Stay away! :caution:

Thanks for the heads up guys, looks like the L50 is the one I should be looking at, especially with the cpf discount.

Thats the one i would get if i had the money.

Please post shot beam shots when you get the L50. I want to see if I made the right decision

To bump up an old thread.....I know some of you may have already seen this one. It's Cabelas' "XPG" 35w HID. It looks identical (and probably is) to the Phoebus "Horizon" 35w HID. It even comes in the same case. The XPG is $500 and the Phoebus Horizon is $1,200!

The XPG may be a Chinese knock-off, but I don't know what it's a knock-off of yet.

Okay, okay, I finally did some homework and found out that the Pheobus Horizon and Cabelas XPG are, essentially the same light as the G&P light. Thanks to an old review by jTice of the G&P a couple of years ago, I found this light to be another example of half-a$$ engineering and good design. They make the light look like super find, but it's full of drawbacks. I find this to be a very sad thing in that with just a few modifications it could be a very popular and exciting HID light.

It was obvious in the reviews that people really wanted the light to be what they wanted and expected it to be. They, once again, were sadly disappointed.:mecry:
