Two words,.. Absolute Sunshine

I usually don't get too revved up on drop-ins, but this Dereelight Q5 5C XP-E that arrived today is magic!

Being a bit concerned on how warm the tint might be, that immediately became on-issue,
as the Q5 5C bin chosen by Dereelight is gorgeous,...
really,, I can't believe a tint can create such a reaction.

The beam has noticeably tight spot,
possibly better throw than the XR-E setups.

The 3SD levels are 1%~15%~100% {Low to High}
.9~4.2 Volts

This beamshot is at least 6 feet away, gives idea on tightness of beam.
If you look close, you can see the outer edge of spill.

Very nice , I was very happy with my Q4 5B from Jay , but this XP-E Q5 5C is a must either . I need a new host :shrug:

I wouldn't say the beams too narrow for hiking at all.
The spill does not show on my pictures very well & is picking up the hottest of the hotspot.
Compared to standard xr-e drop-ins, the spill is slightly less in intensity,
the hotspot is more focused with no Cree rings.

I briefly had an xp-g drop-in,..that had less throw, but more overall spill.
It comes down to personal preference.
Must say, after having several drop-ins over the last few years, some have been brighter,
but none have had such a refined beam and tint..{excluding optics}

The picture makes the beam look quite warm, in fact, unless you put a cool tint next to it, you wouldn't notice it being warm.
It seems more natural to the eyes.

p.s. the Low is closer to 3~4% of max.
