Has anyone seen a pocket-sized, folding box-end or closed-end wrench set? Is there some alternative - perhaps a multi-tool with a small but robust, wide- jaw, crescent wrench?

Several years ago, I had an adjustable wrench that had screwdriver tips and a knife blade that folded out of the handle. That might be a bit big for what you want, though.

The LeatherMan Crunch looks like a multi tool wrapped in a set of Vice Grips. I think that's the closest thing I've seen. It's a great idea though.

Thanks. I've seen something like that and they are handy. What I'm looking for is of a Leatherman pattern with five or six thin bladed box-end wrenches folded inside. I remember seeing one years ago, but for the life of me can't recall any more details than that and my searches have come up empty.

Maybe there is something like that in bicycle tools, a quick search turned up this:

Of course in the old days we just used this. ;)

Topeak is a brand of bicycle tools you may want to check out. I think the Spyderwrench opens to 1/2 or 9/16.

This might be an option also. Note the multi-size wrench on the far left.

Wenger S-557 Swiss Army knife.

If this is for a bicycle, they also make a model with that wrench and a chain tool.
