Polarion Battery Questions

I don't believe PH-40 battery will work with PH-50 units, they are different. PH-50 may run the PH40...

PH-40 battery in a PH-50 runs for a few seconds and shuts down... Not sure if it is a circuit they are using to do this or what...

The Polarion battery look very simple inside to rebuild with new batteries when they go bad though

Cheers

As i wrote before...i swap the batteries between the two Polarions...
The Voltage is exact the same....14,4 Volt at 4400 mAh...
So, where´s the problem?:shakehead

Regards...

When i swap batteries between two (nearly) identical lights, only thing that matters for me is:

1. They fit.
2. Same Voltage
3. Same Capacity

Everything else...i don´t care!

Period!:scowl:

PH40 Batteries works in PH50 and vice versa I have one of each and the only difference is how the leds act when charging.

Both batterise are 14.4V and 4400mAh Li-Ion.

End of story...

Are you sure about that????

Yes, what makes you say otherwise?

I'm sure Ken will chime in on this any minute, but to set the record straight they are in fact the same batteries.

If you look at the "Replacement Parts" page on www.Polarion-Store.com there's clearly only one replacement battery for the PH40 and PH50.

I stand corrected then...

I have 3 older PH-40 batteries that will not run either of my two PH-50 units. They turn on for 5 seconds and go out... Put them back in PH-40 and they run fine. PH-50 may be pulling too many amps for the older batteries... Patriot36 has some pics of the physical differences of the two batteries and a dealer told me that the two batteries were different. I think now my PH-40 batteries must just be old... Although I remember reading a dealer claiming a PH-40 battery was not to be used in the PH-50 for some reason... The insides look fairly easy to upgrade to the highest capacity batteries available for more runtime :duh2:

Need some boss clarification on this :poke:  :eek:oo:

Anyone who can show me otherwise can be my guest.

I think puzzl3 is just a bit "antsy" about how he uses his PH40 and I don't blame him after all the trouble he had to go through to finally get it. I sure don't think he intended to offend you just a justifiable case of paranoia
on his part.

Re: Polarion PH50/PF50 Groupbuy 50 Watt 5,000+ lumen searchlight!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

As far as the batteries for the PH50.

I now know that there is a different battery for the PH50, as the battery for the PH40 is not to be used with the 50w. The 2 lights have different power requirements for striking.

Whether or not the PH50's will initially come with a higher capacity battery, I cannot tell you at this point.

I am not sure if the higher capacity battery (when it is available) will be backwards compatible with the PH40/P2's. I am hoping it will be.

I specifically put in a email to Polarion of Korea several days ago requesting clarification. No response yet.

No not at all, my comments were made in general. I completely understand where he's coming from, as I went through a nightmare of my own in obtaining a Polarion. I did sound a bit cocky then, I apologize if I offended anyone.

I believe the batteries you speak of is from the first run by Polarion. Those are different in design and probably do have problems in the PH50. In your latter post, Ken was talking about the new battery just prior to release of the PH50. Fortunately for us it is in fact backwards compatible, so rest assured we can now live a normal, healthy HID life.:D

Again my apologies for offending anyone.

The only think I can add is that my original Polarion 40 battery failed shortly after I got the light. They replaced it and I think I remember them saying something about a bad batch of Ph40 batteries right out of the chute. Lips, that may be why the old Ph40 batteries won't run in the PH50's. I may be remembering wrong but wasn't there only 4 green led's in the old PH40 batteries and 5 green ones in the newer batteries? Something in my brain is telling me there was a physical difference but I am not completely sure.

Yes that's right, I totally forgot about that! There are 5 green LED's on the old one, and they blink in unison when they're done charging. The newer one has 6 LEDs, where the 6th one is red/green to indicate when it's done charging.

Now the question is does Puzzl3 have the latest battery...

I believe the older battery has no label on it, just a tiny sticker.

I'm sorry for all the trouble I have caused you guys.

Both batteries works fine with ph 40.

I have not try it for more than 5 minutes tho.

Polarion is sooo bright, I don't know where to use it.

A lot of people yelled at me whenever I turn it on.
So I just keep it in its case and put it in my drawer.

I'm regreting I said anything about anyone being offened at this point!:ohgeez: This was just an honest request for information. While I have a PH50 I don't have spare batteries so I really can't reply with any degree of confidence on this. All is well....
