Polished Wee!

I took someones advice and polished the reflecter with my dremel. In the craftsman polishing kit there is a perfect cone shape felt bit. WOW, what a differnce. It turned the Wee in to a real useable light for me. It made the beam into a tight hot spot with nice side spill. I only have the 25 lumin right now, I have a 50 on the way.

Interesting! Which Dremel part did you use?

I believe he used the cone-shaped felt tip... I never found a practical use for that one, until now....

I really am going to post pics, tomorrow. I have never seen the polishing cone seperate. I looked for it too. The polishing kit number is - 9-23660. from Craftsman.

By the color I would say its jewelers rouge..

I have my doubts about that packaging though its either real old or a repack with the dremel name... this one has a decent price and its sold by the piece...

I finally got around to getting a conical polishing bit for my minidrill and polished up my Wee reflector. Blimey, makes a difference doesn't it, makes it seem much brighter.
Unlike the beamshots above, I don't get any fade whatsoever. I get a perfectly round spot with a clearly defined edge so tight you could follow it with a pencil. It may be a bit too smooth as you can start to see the shape of the die causing a faint flower shaped artefact within the hotspot.
