Potting compound on cell phone connector

I apologize that this is off-topic...I Googled around for potting-compound discussions and this seemed like the best forum to ask in.

A connector on my cell phone keeps popping loose since external forces on the phone are transmitted to it. (The problem is outlined here.) Tape does not hold it on, so I'm ready to try glue. I've searched the forum and seen various discussions on potting compounds but, having never used them before, I'd like to confirm that this is an appropriate application, so that I don't brick my $300 phone.

At the moment, I'm considering either RTV Sealant (I happen to have some left over from a car project) or Devcon 2Ton Epoxy.

Ideally I'd like to be able to remove the stuff in case I screw up.

While the phone is known for running warm, I'm guessing that thermal conductivity isn't a huge issue for the connector; definitely don't want electrical conductivity though. Not really necessary, but here is a picture of what I'm dealing with (in the middle of the last photograph you can see the brown ribbon with a connector in the center of the picture)

I'd appreciate any advice on what adhesive to use and/or things to keep in mind.

My eyes are a lot older that your 37 year old ones so I can't quite see the connector well. Try a little tiny drop of hot melt glue on the pc board and the connector. Hot melt glue is often used for electronic assy.
