I'm looking for recommendations on a PR base bulb(s) that would work well powered by a single 18650. I tried a 2 cell mag bulb but (as expected) it went :poof: pretty quickly. Would a 3 cell mag xenon bulb be the best bet or is there something available that's better suited? This will be going in a plastic host so I'd like to keep the heat reasonable. Also, locally available (Lowe's, Home Depot, Radioshack, etc) bulbs would be a big plus but not a deal breaker. I'm curious to see what all is available as I've searched but not seen much mentioned regarding 1x li-ion powered incans.

Thanks,

Tony

3 fully charged D-Cells (NiMH or NiCd) would have a very similar voltage to 1 x 18650 Li-ion. The 3 Cell bulb will handle 3 NiMH - therefore it should certainly run from 1 x Li-ion cell.

Any other bulb designed to run from 3 cells or any rated around 3.7V would work - I don't know of any other than the Mag 3 cell bulbs, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Thanks guys!

Looks like the Home Depot here carries the xenon version of the 3 cell mag bulb, so I'm going to give that a shot first. I might try something a little higher powered like the kpr139 or an overdriven hpr52 later, but I have a feeling that the output from the mag bulb will be fine for what I'm after.

Thanks again,

Tony
