Ok, forget the text below.
The programming does not seem to work when the voltage is too high. When I connect 4 cells NiMh, the response to 3 clicks is as described in the manual.
Now I will try to program it.

Hi Friends!

About one year ago, I ordered a Maxflex driver. The manual I downloaded around that time refers to UI V1.10.

Today, I wired my long-planned bike light together.
It consists of 3 cree P4s in series, and will be powered by 3 LiIon cells. The voltage is a little high at the beginning, but the voltage drop along the cables will take care of that. For testing purpose, I have connected 8 NiMh cells currently on the workbench.
With power applied, my wattmeter says:
0.66A
10.13V
6.6W

As soon as I apply the power, the LEDs light up beautifully. (Which they are not supposed to do according to section 3)
I am able to switch them on and off by clicking the switch.
However, I am not able to access the menu described in section 7 of the manual.
When the light is on and I click the switch 3 times, the light goes off, on, off. After one second, it goes on for about 3 seconds, then it flashes 2 times, and the goes off. Nothing happens when I click. I have to click 3 times again to turn the light on again.
The manual says, that the light will flash once and light up dim after the initial 3 clicks. But it does not.
What am I doing wrong?
Before I forget: I soldered a copper strip to the thermal area, and it is connected to ground.
Can this be the problem?

Here is a picture of my contraption:

The side LEDs are not wired yet. They are about to get a separate 300mA driver.

Thanks for your help in advance,

Julian
