OK, I'm hunting Luxeons, but nothing seems to jump out as outstanding yet. If no better Ts can be located then the SY0J will be the fall back.

I'll give things a few more days to see what turns up. No definitive price yet, as I don't know how much any new Luxeons might cost at this point.

Kevin, I would rather have the "T" even if I have to wait a while.

Update - I received the pure aluminum blanks today, so I can start making the heatsinks. Still hunting Luxeons; I think I better get a bigger gun....

Re: ProMagnum - 2AA, 4AA or 6AA or 2 D cell operat

OK, here's the list I have compiled so far:

jtice - Semi-drop in DIY
Monolth - TK
rdf - TK
rick258 - TK
haveblue - TK
starlight - blk TK
Zephyr - TK
rookie - TK
marcspar - TK
Merkava - TK

I plan to build these the week of 5 - 9 July. I'm on vacation then, and that leaves plenty of time to round up some T Luxeons and locate Mags for modding.

If you guys can post your case color preferences, then I can start hunting down the Mags also. My plan is to get the heatsinks made, flashlights disassembled, reflectors and switches modded before the end of the month. That way when I start vaction I should just need to install the Luxeons and assemble the parts.

Also, it looks like I will be ordering more battery adapters to make this project a reality. These are 6AA holders and can be easily converted for 9V or 3V operation in place of 2D cells. So, if you think you might also want extra battery holders, this is your chance to pick some up at cost, which will be slightly over $1/each.

Ill take 10 of the 6AA battery holders please.

Also,,, what exactly would the "Semi-dropin DIY" consist of? And how much of a cost difference between it, and the complete light.
I may just have you make it for it, depends on how much more it is, and how lazy I am feeling that day. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks

I'm in for 10 of the 6AA battery holders as well. Would it help to drop a mag of our color choice to you in the mail?

Hi Kevin,

Please put me on the list for 3 of the 6AA holders. These 3 are in addition to the one that comes in the light.

Lambda,

How about sputtered reflectors like the Megalite?
