Proton Pro: how to remove spacer ring?

Hey all.

I picked up a Proton pro with no clip recently. It does have the spacer ring in it.

I wanted to remove the spacer ring, but can't figure out how.
Can some one provide some insight?

There are two indentions. Using the corner of a screwdriver and you can pop the whole thing out. Just watch where it flies off to.
