My proton pro arrived today and it all I hoped it would be.
All the features of my favorite key chain light in a real size light.
Yay.
Got a deal from CFR lights , very happy. Woot

Way to go, Joe. The Proton Pro is quite possibly my favorite light. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

The photon freedom has long been my fav keychain light, and I wanted a pocket AA light with all the features of the photon .
Light ramping, SOS , and all the rest.
Now I have one, it is perfect.
Only a slight bit longer than my gerber IU, perfect for me and my needs.
Got it for $42.95 on sale.
They have gone up now but only a few bucks and still on sale.

If they came out with an all-white version of the Proton Pro, it would be the last 1xAA light I would buy for a long time. The Freedom UI is by far the best I've ever used.

I'm hoping LRI is hard at work on a new version. What I'd like to see is one with 2 or 3 red LEDs instead of just one. This would smooth out the red beam, which doesn't quite measure up to that of the old Proton, though it is just as bright. A slightly higher high and lower low wouldn't hurt, too.

I agree, the red mode is ok with me though.
The main thing to me is , I wish the light ramping was reversed so that the white started at low then up to high, and the red would start at high and ramp down to low, since I use the white more often on a lower setting and the red on a higher setting.
This would help save battery power for me in the longrun.
Other than that I have no complaints, I love it.
It is the only light I carry other than my gerber IU for when I need more light , which is rare. But I love playing with it since it has such a good UI and
is very useful.
