well guys I tried modding my lightforce 240 with a 70 watt hid kit,but it just doesnt seem that bright to me.I fixed it like a few other members have done exept I just used a cigarette lighter plug instead of the lipo cells. Is there any advice on how to line up the bulb correctly. The throw is decent but the beam just isnt as tight as some others I have seen.Any help would be appreciated.

As long as the bulb base (and therefore, the bulb) sits snugly and in the middle of the hole in the handle via a bushing or some other means, then you're covered with this part of the "alignment". I'm sure you've discovered that the giant reflector screws in and out for the focus. Just screw in or out until the hotspot is as small as it will go. That's it.

Which other ones are you referring too? A 70W HID, if it's a true 70W output should be in the neighborhood of 7500+ lumens. That's would normally be pretty jaw dropping lumen output even without being perfectly dialed in focus wise.

+1 to what BVH and Patriot stated.

The LightForce SL240 Blitz has a very high quality reflector, and should give an incredibly tight beam when focused correctly. It sounds like it is definitely just a focus/bulb postioning problem, as with the high surface brightness and relatively small arc size of the HID bulb it should give a laser like pencil beam.

This one is a true 84W but I wouldn't pay much attention to the brightness since it's over exposed some. In any case, you can at least see the beam shape from a 45mm-ish zoom setting at 330 yards.

Thanks guys, this ballast says 70 watts but I guess its probably alot less.Mine is not nearly as bright as the one in that picture.Does anyone know where I can get a good ballast and bulb? I saw someone on here had a 100 watt ballast, where could I buy one of those?
