Question about stinger hp

I just got my streamlight Stinger LED HP today and it says i have to let it charge 12 hours. It's been more than 12 hours and that damn red light won't turn off lol ... or turn green.. or flash... the steady charge instructions are not very specific on what it is going to do except 'the red light will be on as long as light is on charger' ...

will it give me a sign that it is fully charged and i can go test it out at full power? or is it done and am i just waiting for nothing?

please help, it's my first rechargeable and I can't wait to use it!
