hey guys

I have a Quark AA-2 Neut. Tact. and tonight I some how was able to get it *below* moon mode:thinking:. I remembered reading a post a while back stating program mode can be achieved by pressing down on the head instead of the usual twisting motion. After the second press on the head I added a little bit of pressure where the light shut off momentarily which upon release it was in a very *low* mode:grin2:. Thinking this was an accident, I switched of the light and tried again w/ no success. After a couple of minutes I tried again and there it was the *eclipse* mode. Not sure if this is a glitch or done on purpose but it was pretty neat seeing the light go beyond moon-mode. Anyone have any ideas on this?

edit: in a total dark room the light from moon mode can be seen at least 20ft. away; this *newer* mode can only be seen barely at 5'

With the loose mode the light is set to moonmode. I pressed down on the head for 2 sec. ( no light is shining from the head) & slowly releasing. I was able to do this 5 times w/ no problems. It may be info. that is known already, I just found it neat:grin2:

Pretty sweet. I may have to buy one of these Tactical Quark AAs just for this "feature" haha. I wonder if there is a way to find this "Eclipse" mode in a non tactical Quark AA.

fisk-king thanks for posting this. Now you have the duty of a run-time test on "Eclipse" mode. Give it a few weeks and get back to us.

sounds like a defect and/or you're confused on moonlight mode.

I also expect most would NOT suggest "pressing" on the head as that puts wear and tear on the threads

no, its not the moon mode,
and you're probably correct on the wear and tear of the threads. the few times I was able to do this is when I tighten the head to second mode and slightly loosen to the point where it switches to the other mode. its not something I would do on a regular basis, just found it interesting.;)
