Hello,

I've been lurking around here soooo long and drooling. I found a Thor-X 10mcp just around the corner from me in great shape. It has a 12v 7ah battery and a standard Phillips H4 b5 bulb and socket :D The bulb socket with 3 prongs is held in place by a spring clip.

Way before I found the spotlight I started researching and bookmarking HID kits etc. HOWEVER I feel that I am no closer today that I was last thanksgiving. There is just sooooo much HID crapola that it's difficult to sort though.

So, can anyone here help out by suggesting a 35w or 55w kit with a H4 bulb socket type?

Anyone sellers that you trust that havent burned you?

I really appreciate your input, and I have read pretty much every HID mod thread here, but in some cases the link are outdated etc.

Cheers

You need to pick H4 because that's what the reflector socket of the THOR-X reflector is designed to use. Undo the spring clip and remove the old halogen bulb, drop the new HID bulb in with the 3 tabs lined up, put the spring clip back in place and your done.

Thx LumenHound,

That seems to be the right answer to me, but I've never actually touched or seen an H4 HID before, and I can't find any pics that distinctly show the same base configuration with the 3 prongs.

The way the clip is, it would hold a bulb in even with out the 3 tabs, but as you mentioned, there might be some difference in distance of the filiments between the H4 Halogen high beam and the H4 HID.

Man if it really is that simple this is going to be one easy mod!

THX!
