No need to mess with the reflow or slotted bases. 2 passed with a razor over the top permits them to solder normally.

BTW- I don't know where you got your rebels, but I bought a few strips of both 95lumen@350mA and 105lumen@350mA rebels. I would like to see them compaired with the CREE die equiped LEDs.

Thank you for the neat output and VI graphs.

Best Wishes,

I got my rebels through Future Electronics.

What part numbers are you referring to? There are no 95 or 105 lumen at 350mA parts. These are the only cool white parts available, according to the datasheet:

Code:
Part Min Fux Current Typ Flux Current
LXML-PWC1-0040 40 350 80 700
LXML-PWC1-0050 50 350 95 700
LXML-PWC1-0070 70 350 130 700
LXML-PWC1-0080 80 350 145 700

The neutral whites perform the same, and the warm whites are dimmer.

Unless you got some unlisted parts through some other channel - what are the part numbers that you got?

Whoops!!! I made a huge mistake! They are 95 and 105lumens @ 700mA, not 350mA!

My applogies for any confusion my sleepy posting caused. I don't have the part numbers for any of them, just a very brief reference sheet with the standard Vf and output etc. Could it be that the part number is somewhere between the PWC1-0050 and PWC1-0070? Perhaps they forgot to include the PWC1-0060 on that list? Could be the hongkong retailer I purchased a few strips from does creative 're-bining'.

Here is another pic to show the real advantage of the rebel over the K2. :D

This is a reflector from a 1AA light.

Yes indeed, the rebel allows for much higher densities of LEDs. I can see these being very useful for RGB billboard displays (as individual pixels), display backlighting, etc.
