Rechargeable battery help

I currently own three headlamps: Aurora, Tikka Plus, BD Spot and have my eye on a Rayovac High Beam. I'm wanting to upgrade to rechargeable batteries, probably NiMH, but not sure where to begin. None of my headlamps are regulated, will NiMH batteries cause any problems? What smart charger that can handle both AAs and AAAs do you recommend? Lastly what high capacity batteries should I be looking for, best value? Anything else I should know about rechargeables, any tutorials you can point me to? Thanks in advance.

nimh won't be having problems if you use good charger. The best one is Maha Wizard one C9000, costs ~$60. I use Duracell power gauge $20 as my ripvan 4000N died.

Search with the keyword 'eneloop'. Depending on your use these these might fit your bill. They have a much smaller self-discharge, but usually only available with lower capacities.
