Recharging a lantern from a car

I need an answer to this question before i buy a rechargable lantern. It can be charged from a car but how long does that usually take and does it put a big drain on my car battery? Thanks

It depends on the size of the battery, battery chemistry, and the charging amps output of the charger. Links?

I don't have a link but i was checking out the Coleman Retro and said it could be charged with AC or DC.
