Being as cheap as I am, I just couldn't bring myself to spend $50+ on just the bezel for a very ordinary 2D black Mag aspheric. Heck, the KD aspheric kit cost ~$30, the host was only ~$12, and the 3 Tenergy NiMH C cells were only $7.50 all together. A $50 bezel would have doubled the cost of the entire torch. :p

Still, I wanted to be able to head-stand this torch and more importantly, needed something to to shield my eyes from a side view of the big KD 37mm tall Aspheric lens.

Enter 2" PVC pipe wrapped in black electrical tape. I had some of this laying around and a 3/4" slice was all I needed. (1" would have been better to fully elminate the strange laser thin corona waaay outside the beam).

It aint pretty, but it does the trick and it was basically free. I'm always on the lookout for someone wanting to trade their aspheric bezel for anything I've got but until then...

Very nice. You can get a lot of useful stuff with the money you saved. I always like the things I personally customize better than the store bought version.

The only issue I have with the mod is it should have been duct tape. From one Redneck to another, it rocks.

very nice! Have you thought to use metal piping with the 52mm threading? I wonder if that will work as well?

Sweet! Cheap and easy. I might have gone for the contrating silver/black look with Duct tape to highlight the mod.
