Well my MM solitaire w/ SMJLED2 now sadly hangs on the keyrack. It's been replaced by another Lowe's product. This one is a new, smaller TaskForce, with 4 - 352 cells (included) and a momentary on/off. I was always bothered by the size of the solitaire in my pocket. The taskforce was on sale for about $2.50 . The TF beats (IMO) the SMJLED2 up to about 30 ft. Color is a nice blue-white, has no rings, hotspot is very good with good spill. Lights up my dark garage very well. But after about 25-30 ft, the story is different, just not enought throw from 4 small button cells. It's not too awful bad but a focused SMJLED2 has more. No idea about runtime however.

As a side note, a few weeks ago, we were in a crowded restaurant when the power went out. The emergency lights came on but either the batteries had gone bad or there just wasn't enough light. Anyway, it was so dim you could hardly see anything. So I whip out my MM soli w/ SMJLED2 and provided enough light for folks to see the floor and safely make an exit. People were oohhing nad aahhing over so much light from such a small package, asking where I got it, etc. Anyway, I was proud.

Unfortunately, in the UK, we have a limited selection of really good keychain flashlights.

I have seen this one in Tescos Supermarket for £5 and hopefully they will let me open one up tonight to test it before I buy it (too tight to risk £5)

Powered by 3 x S736S button batteries, aluminum body and a twist switch.

That light was available at Target in the US under the River Rock brand. I bought several of them when they dropped through their clearance prices of $4.88, $2.88 and then a last few at $1.88.
If you search for "peanut" you'll probably find some old threads. They are very bright initially and well made with O-ring seals. Hopefully the lights available near you are equally well made.
I don't know about total runtime, but many button-cell lights have a long useful life after dropping quickly from their initial brightness. Many people prefer 1xAAA lights for this reason, but in a test I did my Coast keychain light with 4 button cells far outlasted a Dorcy 1xAAA version 2 for useful light. AAA's are obviously more convenient, but I also use these button-cell keychain lights for various purposes.
You can easily snap off the swivel shackle using two pairs of pliers if you want to rig this light differently.

I've got 5 of these little peanut lights I purchased at Target. Very durable and well made!
