ROP sanding tailcap

So finally got my ROP built thanks to all reading I did here. It is great and very bright! Am using a 2D with Fivemega 6AA to 2D convertor, FM reflector and Borofloat lense.

I did NOT sand the tailcap or use lye as mentioned, left it as is. The spring does not seem to touch that part. Or does it touch once closed? Let me know if I should bother doing this, thanks!

Cleaning out the tail cap is for the 2 C cell ROP LE version. Two 18650s are significantly longer than 2Cs and the spring must be removed so contact is made at the bottom to the tail cap.
