Review of the RPM Ti M6 bezel. (8TC version)
Sales thread here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=210226
I received my RPM bezel via USPS today and excitedly unwrapped it. My bezel came already installed on a M6 head that I had earlier sent to RPM (Richard) as a test bed for fitting. He also sent along a removal tool which will come in handy if I transfer this bezel to another head or purchase other versions of RPM's jeweled creations.
My particular bezel is the 8TC version which has 8 notches, tapers inward on the outside edge and has chamfers from the crenellated notches. Looking at the other designs, this one appears to have the most machining cuts of any of the designs. The second most machined being the 8SC version.
Regarding the accuracy and quality of machining, all I can say is Wow! These are true pieces of Surefire jewelery executed to the highest order. I chose the polised version since I appreciate having the option to correct small scratches as this is a "user." The polishing is very consistant and there are no points at which any of the perfectly cut edges are deformed from over polishing.
The dimensions from the head to the tip of the teeth is .350" and the diameter to the widest point is 2.490" which tapers to 2.440" on the "T" or tapered version.

M6 with ti bezel and machined, aluminum, stock bezel, removal tool
Removal tool with another size reference. The tool is a almost a work of art in itself.
M6 & M6/3 both with RPM Ti bezels, shown again with M6 removal tool.
A closer look at the inner ring of the bezel. Richard ultimately decided that tool installation notches were not necessary for his bezels because the diameter allowed for sufficient hand tightening without them. This allowed for a very clean design and helped to keep the cost to a minimum.
I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of this custom bezel. The project ended up taking Richard more time than originally planned but I can attest that the wait was well worth the result and the extra time shows in the end product. The delayed release date also allowed him to offer more variations of the bezel, a total of 7 or 14 if you consider the different finishes. As usual RPM comes through with a knockout product, this time aimed at the M6. Thanks Richard for offering unique and perfectly executed accessories for our beloved Surefires'.
