Scissor lift for mill vise & work table

I wanted a roll around table for both welding & use in the machine shop. Picked up a used scissor lift that goes down to 10" and raises to 36". Weight capacity is 600#, and the top raises 1" with every push of the foot.

The table was used for a few weeks before the new top was added. It's 1/4" steel plate, 22"x34", which overhangs the original top by 1" on all sides. The new top is much easier to attach clamps to.

Its not that Barry has the coolest tools, whats important is that he knows all these gadgets exist!! (IE that push-pull vise)

I'd been looking for a quick action vise for years & got lucky on that auction. But the lift table is a different story. Ted, my used machinery dealer, stopped by one afternoon with two lift tables in his truck ... he said I needed to buy one of them to load & unload large acetylene cylinders from my truck. A full #5 cylinder, which holds 390 cubic feet, weighs 215# and is a bear to handle without help. The lift table takes all the hassle out of handling these large tanks.
