Hello forum members,

I did some intense search on google but there were not many helpful reviews about a spotlight that could be suitable for my need: it should light a big object (e.g. another boat) 1000ft afar from my boat in heavy fog at night.

I'm considering Optronics BLUE EYE BEAM and Brinkmann Blue Max Q-
Beam, but don't know for sure if the blue light would help.

Then I found this useful forum, and hope the experts here would be able to help me out . Thx in advance.

Another concern is replacement bulbs. I couldn't find "original" replacement bulbs for those lamps from their "official" websites. Does it mean the lamps are not reusable? How come they are equipped with replaceable rechargable batteries? I'm confused...

Any advise is very appreciated.

It would be very hard to beat a Lightforce Marine Spotlight with a yellow filter. The light is focusable from flood to tight spot. The yellow filter cuts through the fog. Shop around for the best price.

I have the 170 mm driving lights, with yellow fog filters, mounted on my jeep. I was driving home one night in a drizzle so heavy I could hardly see past the front of the vehicle. I turned on the Lightforce lights, and it was just like daylight with no drizzle.

Thanks, JimH. The document is very helpful. There are also some sample shots here in this forum. I found a good price (149$ shipped) for the Marine 240 and the yellow filter.
