If any Peak fans out there have experience with a Baltic SP (Super Ultra) in the 2xAAA body, I would appreciate your opinions re: output, beam pattern, runtime (esp. on NiMH/eneloops), heat build up, etc.

Thanks.

I just did a test on a SP Baltic Sea that I am sending out today.
Light output:
274 Candela at 1.5 volts
484 Candela at 3.0 volts
Current Draw:
.47 Amp at 1.2 volts
.79 Amp at 1.5 volts
.83 Amp at 1.6 volts
.69 Amp at 2.4 volts
.62 Amp at 3.0 volts
The current draw specs are from a bench power supply with the current output set to maximum. Battery current draws may be different. I have seen some current draws as much as 1.03 Amps at 3.0 volts. The light output and current draws are dependent on the LED, electronics and battery variables. (And maybe also the phase of the Moon).

Curt,

Thanks for the post and data. And..... thanks for the brass Baltic P4 SP (w/ 1xAAA and 2xAAA bodies) that I just ordered from you over the phone. I hope that's the one you are sending out today!

Cheers,

Andrew

Received my brass Baltic Sea P4 SP w/ 1xAAA and 2xAAA bodies yesterday. What a neat little light, and what a beautiful white floody beam. :)

Curt, thanks for running the numbers on it you posted above, and thanks to you and to Robyn for such a pleasing little bundle of brass.

After I use it a bit more, I hope to put some photos and comments up over the weekend.
