I'm guessing the original C2 had the glossy black finish and weren't HAIII?
Also, it seems like some call the HAIII natural (color) and others call it olive-drab? It's really difficult to tell colors through web pictures. Is the olive drab what most call HAIII natural? Does the oilve-drab really look green...it doesn't on the SF website.

Thanks,

p

Some of the C2s look green and some look gray and some look almost black. It depends on the batch of anodizing. It just depends which batch you buy from.

Yes, HAIII = an olive shade of green most of the time. But as every run of anodization varies, you'll see plenty of different shades within the olive-green range. Some are ultra dark, some much lighter. Search for threads on surfire anodizing and you'll find a wealth of info.

The standard black used for the C2-BK is type II anodised.

One or two special editions were produced in very limited numbers in type III "Hard" Anodised black finish.
