I understood from this board that aluminum extensions generally did not work on G2's. Some members mentioned using aluminum foil to bridge the contact from flashlight body to extension. I have a G2 I had not been using and the other night I realized I had an extesion for a 6p or 9p I was also not using , so I decided to try it on my G2. I bent a small paper clip into a circle to match the interior of the extension and cut the ends so it would not overlap. I pushed it past the threads onto a "shoulder" inside the extension. "It's ALIVE!". It works great! Everything screws down tight and it works. I feel like I have a new light. It looks a little Frankenstien-ish, nitrolon and aluminum, but I dont mind.

Pictures are above my pay grade. The paper clip goes inside the "female" end of the extension, towards the flashlight body. It sits on the shoulder just below the threads. The tailcap screws onto the "male" end of the extension. The G2 and the extension are both black so it does not really look too bad.
Now that I read this back it sounds a bit risque. Please, no jokes.

If only the AN14 tube extender was offered in Desert Tan colour, I could get the G3 in the colour I want.
When is Surefire going to offer the G3 in desert tan anyway-- or any other color besides black?
