hi all,,,,and I should be saying pyramid shaped objects, shouldn't I?

Anyway, I tried to sharpen the tip of pyramid shaped glass breaker...And sound realiZed that going too far you will created not a point but aknife edge...
`
I guessed that sharpening a flat and going to the adjacent side is bad procedure...so I started filing opposite sides first...And I got a better results when I left the file off and use a dremel stone keeping close attention to the stone angle...
`
So how close am I on the proper procedure?

Proper procedure is any method that gets the thing to the right shape.

What I would do is carefully lap each face using either a sharpening stone or fine sandpaper taped to a flat surface, making sure that I ended up with a point.

almost what i did with the dremel disc shaped stone...

But what are the methodd of not going too far on one side and destrying the point?
