I bought a Raw Ti a couple of months ago, but I've avoided using it because the threads had an unpleasant scraping sensation when I turned the head. I know this is generally an issue with titanium, but it went away on my LunaSol after a few days of judicious twisting and cleaning and regreasing, so I decided something else was going on with my Raw Ti. Specifically, I decided there was too much pressure on the threads.

So, I took the spring out and cut about 1.25 coils off the tip, then used needlenose pliers to bend the wire into a more-or-less flat circle like the tip used to have before I cut it. Then I lightly sanded the tip on some 400-grit(?) emory paper to smooth the wire so it wouldn't scratch the battery. I reinstalled it, and sure enough it works perfectly now.

The spring, after cutting/bending/sanding, is about 6.5mm tall. If anyone else has the same issue, they might want to give what I did a shot.
