Hey Guys, I`m thinking of getting an LED TORCH- CLICKY but, a little confused of WHAT to get?

Here are my 2 options:

OPTION #1
FENIX P2D CE Q2 135LUMEN - $69
WE- DEFENDER DIGITAL CREE 4 MODE 170 LUMEN - $90

TOTAL : $159

OPTION#2

NOVATAC 120P 120 LUMEN - $150

TOTAL : $150

I can`t afford to get both Options.

Let me know what to get and why?

My purpose is to have a small tactical light that I can carry everyday with my keychain and can also use it at home with my Glock 35.

:help:

What I meant was if shi... happens the light is there to protect my family...

Torch that has less chances of failure to operate... --- Identify and blind them...

for a high power light in a tactical situation I would go with a surefire because when your life depends on it you don't want to be clicking through modes you also don't want to have your light on constant it makes you a target.

The thing is you don't want to have to cycle through modes to get the highest brightness to blind an intruder.

Go for The Fenix and Wolf Eyes.

And for that situation, I wouldn't get a clicky Surefire, I'd get one of their twisty tail switches with the momentary button. More reliable and DESIGNED for just that situation.

If you're not going going to compromise, then don't compromise...

very well said

Why not just get the FENIX P2D CE Q2 and a WE Defender with the single mode Cree? Then you have the best of both worlds.

Thank you guys for the response...

I really think you need 2 lights for what you describe. Something small enough for your keychain will be a liability in a stressful situation especially if you have big hands. How are you going to position a small light in your non-gun hand in a hurry? You going to use it with a bunch of noisy keys dangling from it? You need a dedicated pistol light. A Surefire C3 or the equivilent. Something big enough were gripping is intuitive and with a simple off on switch. Who has the time to cycle through to high when there is an uninvited guest in your house?

You ask to much for one light IMHO.

I'd go for a light with a larger textured surface area. Less chance of fumbling in a high stress situation. The SF Z2 fits the bill. With a P61 LA, it is blinding to those on the other end.

The Fenix is too small and slippery to deploy quickly, especially in a stressful situation with a firearm in the other hand.

Whichever hand lights you go with I recomend getting a TLR-1 for your Glock (http://www.streichers.com/ProductDetail.aspx?Catalog=Flashlights&Category=HAND_LIGHT&Prod=SL-TLR1). That way if you need your non-gun hand for something other than holding a light you will still have a light ready to go. I personally have trained to use both together, (hand held for searching and weapon light for threat management). For an 80 lumen light thats tough as they come with an unconditional life time warranty and only $100+s&h you can't beat it. I know several people who have the SF equivalent and are happier with the TLR-1.

With a Wolf Eyes you can run it on 18650 batteries, or you can drop in a Lumens Factory lamp assembly and have a bright incandescent with the right set-up.

.....

Wisconsin has troubles so bad you carry a Glock .?
Good Heavens !
There goes, out the window, my vision of lakes and rivers and nice gentle folk.
:mecry:

I'm half kidding. My ex used to tell me what a horror Racine WI was. Her home town.

You won't be able to get both of the things you asked in one light. (yet) .

But if both bright and small is what you want go to fenix .
I'f you want a "only gun light" then Streamlight/Stretchers

must be hell living where you need a handgun. I shudder to think.

Happy dream s

Keeping a handgun in the home is like keeping a spare tire in your vehicle. I guess no body ever gets robbed, rapped or assulted in Canada? It's generally very peaceful where I live in Ky but sometimes bad things happen and I'd rather be prepared than not.

We have quite a lot of rappers round here. They're annoying, I agree, but I think shooting them would be going a bit far.

I'm still laughing!

I always tell my wife that crime happens in the most unexpected places and time. Who would image a razor cutter could bring down a jetliner...???
