SILVER Novatac's ??????????

Interesting, silver. I wonder if it's silver coated or just polished.

I've been considering picking up an E model to go along with the black 120P I have. I might just wait until the silver is out before buying another. I'm also wondering about the flickering. I got lucky and won the flicker lottery with my 120P, performs flawlessly. Guess I'll roll the dice and gamble again when these come out.

Flicker? What flicker?
Have you sent the light in for repair?
Sounds like you need to send it in if it is performing less then perfectly.
MIne has no flicker.
I haven't heard that flicker is an issue with these. Is this a kn own issue or a new issue?

I believe there is a flicker on some only when going from the highest output mode to the lowest output - it sometimes flickers on low. I've never tested it on mine as my lowest 'low' is several steps up from level 1 and it's plenty low for getting around in the house at night.

Cave Dave is exactly right. NT's reply is to the effect of "yes we know there's a problem but it's not an issue that we care to fix, so you can send it in if you want, but we'll probably just send it back."

I have no flicker issues with my Black p120, even on the lowest setting. However, I have issues with the quality of the anodizing. Mine is only about a month old and it isn't wearing well. Hopefully, the anodizing on the silver model will be an improvement, but even if it isn't, the bare metal showing through a silver finish shouldn't be as objectionable as it is when showing through on the black version. I am looking forward to seeing this new color.

Flicker or not, this lights sell like hotcakes. I will prolly get the silver version also.

I have had flicker problems with every novatac i bought.Witch is only one i had to send it back three times and each time they would send me a new one that was a little better than the last. I finally gave up and had to just accept that there was no way for them to fix the flicker. If you really want to know if your light has one go from 120 right to .08 thats when it most always happens.

Flicker is a problem for earlier model. I am not sure whether this have been fixed? What I did to mine was physically extend the spring that transversed the body. I am praying that with good contact from the extended spring the flicker would go away. LOL, it did, and it may be mind over matter.

I have 2 120Ps(early run Natural, Black). I have the low on both set to .08 lumens. The only time I have ever seen a flicker at the lowest level is when the battery needed charging(~ 3.5v-3.6v unloaded).

I have a black novatac and it will sometimes flicker on several of the low modes. Sometimes the flicker will remain when I change to a higher level then change back, but most of the time this switching makes the flicker go away. I'm not sure what affect cell voltage has to do with it since I'm only on my second CR123.

I'm curious to see what the silver Novatac looks like...

It doesnt matter weather its the new colors of old natural ones. All suffer from the flickering at the last 2 or 3 lowest levels. The circuits in all of them are the same and have never been revised.

The flickering isn't consistant though, sometimes if happens sometimes not. Sometime it flickers for a few seconds then stabilizes. Sometimes it stays flickering untill you change to a higher output level. Those who say they their 120P do not have the flicker problem simply just havent experienced it YET. They all will.

magic elf,
Like I said I have 2 120Ps and I can get 1 of them to flicker on a low battery. The other 1 has never exhibited this behavior. I think it has something to do with the Vf of the particular LED.
To say all 120Ps flicker, basically states that the people who say there 120P doesn't flicker are ignorant or blind because your 120P flickers.:thumbsdow
