I am no expert, but I conducted runtimes for my new sets of batteries with each bulb I own. This is a review based on my limited experience. Mostly I did this because I couldn't find this kind of info anywhere else. Thought someone else could find this useful.
I purchased Solarforce, 3.7v 123a protected cells, 880 mAh.
So far so good. I realy think they are going to be a great addition to my Surefire 6P.
I have 3 bulbs, the CREE Q5, CREE R2 and also have an Alpha series G8 bulb. The tests I did are average run times of each bulb using these batteries.
Times are as follows:
Q5 bulb: 1hour, 4 min.
R2 bulb: 47 min.
G8 bulb: 49 min.
These times are to shut off. No dimming involved here on 123a's.
Again, I am not posting this as an experienced reviewer or expert. Just a guy that did run time averages to see what bulb runs the best with the batteries.
As far is brightness and throw, the Q5 bulb and the G8 bulb were about the same. The R2 bulb was a bit dimmer than the Q5.
Down to reliability....does anyone have experience with Solarforce cells?
