I ordered and received this new Solarforce tailcap, L2-S8... couldn't see that in pictures but the thing is HUGE... on a normal size 6P clone it's just to big and makes you think that that's the part where light comes out instead of bezel...

Weird thing I discovered is that it wouldn't fit Surefire bodies or A19 extender... that is a shame... I don't have Malkoff MD2 (new style) or MD3 to try it on that as well but in order to use this tailcap you need something like Malkoff Hound Dog head but due to the fact that it wouldn't fit Surefire bodies (and I presume Malkoff) that might not be the solution...

At first I was WOWed after I saw the sheer size of something that has purpose to turn the light off and on but after I figure out that I might have a big head/bezel one day, this may seems appropriate... unfortunatelly, it will only make good fit with Solarforce bodies... too bad... I'm going to try compatibility of internal parts with regular L2 switch just so I can see if I could turn L2 gun metal into forward clicky w/o McClicky and additional parts (OR retainer, for example)...

I also found out that this tailcap dont fit a solar force l2, this is meant as a replacement for the new M8. It do however fit my Solar force T700.

Well, looking for cheaper alternatives to A19, I ordered Lumens Factory EXR-1, I think that's the name for 1 cell extender for 6P clones... and this extender does fit all bodies, Surefire and clones but also L2-S8 fits the end of extender... lol... weird...

So now I'm thinking to try to PAINT that extender with that Birchwood Casey black marker and see how the paint is holding on with the time... too bad Lumens Factory doesn't make Seraph series in black anodizing... :)

Well I hope the ones I ordered will fit, or it's the last time i order from Solarforce-Sales: "Solarforce S8 Forward clicky switch for Surefire 6P 9P"

Edit: This is stated on the Solarforce-site:
"Compatible with the Solarforce L2, L2P, L2X, L2m, L2m special edition, L600/L600s, L1200, Masterpiece and M8"

Yeah that S8 is hideous... I couldn't get it to work with any of my lights - Solarforce or Surefire... Maybe mine is defective? Or is it just a design flaw?

Hey, nice site! Just checked it out.

I have two S8's... they both work on my L2p hosts and L2m. You're right... too big and fat. I wish they hadn't quit the L2-S4.

I have the S8 on my L2X and I love it!

Forward clicky is what I wanted.
Large size wanted as well... it has room for my big thumb without jabbing on the 4 tips and gives me a more secure (cigar) hold too.
It looks very nice on the L2X, not as great on the L2P (IMO).
Retains the tail stand ability... even more stability!

Oh by the way....... you can still buy the L2-S4.

Although this dealer probably has them because the price is so high! You can get 5% off with the code: SBCPF

Well... It works on my "L2Xtended", but it doesn't look as nice as the L2-S5 on that body (in my opinion). The switch is also super stiff.
And as huge as the S5, it's even bulkier - so beware, don't let i fall off a table down on small dogs, it may cause bodily harm!

HA !!!

Funny this was moved to Budget Lights as I'm using mine with "very budgety" Malkoff Hound Dog XML with MD2 body and slightly modded Lumens Factory 1-cell extender (used thermo-sleeve to shrink with heatgun to get rather tough protection over too shiny original anodization of the extender)... the whole setup looks awesome... somehow this tailcap just feels "natural" with big headed light, such as Hound Dog...

As for compatibility... the only extender I could used it with was Lumens Factory... S8 wouldn't screw to any Surefire parts nor Solarforce extender would attach to MD2 body... but Lumens Factory did a great middle job...
