Here is what it is, a modified Black 3C-cell Maglite sporting a Phillips 5761 bulb. It is unique:
THE SWITCH IS AN LED CONSTANT ON GID-LOST LIGHT FINDER!

There is a mar on the barrel below the switch (shown without the GID cap) and by the jack: click to enlarge thumbnail

3C-cell black Maglite bored to better accept A123 Lithium Cells.
  • The socket is a ceramic switch/Pr to Bi-Pin socket for a low resistance high temperature union of bulb and circuit using Mill-Max connectors (permanent socket adapter not removable). It allows off/on and momentary off/on operation. G4, 4mm pin spacing and diameter.
  • Single click to turn on, always! Instant On and Off and Momentary on/off switch, switch modified for reduced resistance.
  • 854 Torch lumens out the front! Frosted Phillips 5761 bi-pin halogen bulb, rated 765 lumens overdriven to 1331 lumens. The bulb runs at 5.5 amps. Focus is @2 turns up from bottom.
  • Clear Lens, high temperature glass window.
  • Smooth Litho123 reflector fitted to the 5761 bulb, long throwing wide hot-spot feathering into spill beam.
  • Direct drive no expensive drivers, no NTC, no resistors or soft start electronics needed. The battery voltage is a perfect match, the correct voltage, for this bulb for overdriving; most reliable and long burning 5761 mod – SAVES $$$$
  • Fused at the battery ground for protection.
  • A123 cells are POSITIVE ground casings. Uses a nanophosphate positive electrode (cathode).
  • This light is POSITIVE ground to take advantage of the original safety of the circuit design. http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2128722&postcount=6
  • A123 Systems 26650 (ANR26650M1) , 3.3 volt 2.3 Ah lithium batteries, two of them. The safer lithium that does not readily burn, LiFePO4, Lithium Iron Phosphate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9ayuFBDrSg
  • Long running constant out put, one of the flattest discharge curves of any batteries. Cells are rated 70Amp or 30C discharge continuous operation. (33C pulsed)

www.batteryspace.com also has LiFePO4 chargers
  • Full charge in under 20 minutes at 5 Amp rate!
  • Built-in charging jack, if light is a POSITIVE ground, center pin is NEGATIVE. Conversely if light is a NEGATIVE ground, center pin is POSITIVE. Pin is connected to switch terminal. Read conditions of sale below for jack information. Jack sits 60 degrees left for easy disconnect with right hand use, hold light right hand remove charging plug with left.
  • Modified design tail cap connection. Room for spare bulb here. http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/2347/ntcfusetailta2.jpg
  • Head and reflector surrounded in ceramic blanket material for thermal management.
  • At 6.6 to 6.9 Vbulb you can also run the WA 1111, WA1111 is only 531 torch lumens, but why would you do that?
  • NEAT Toy, switch is constant-on LED GID lost light locator;NOT OFFERED BEFORE BY NL: links:
IMPROVE THE N30 HID add a 225 Lumen R2 LED area light and GLOWING LED locators
ROP w/ constant glowing switch membrane

This is a unique flashlight because it produces a great amount of light, 1331 lumens, 854 torch lumens in a small body, 3C-cell. That is generally more than the M85 (m@g85) and ROP modified lights. The light is initially brighter than any of my AW Lithium C-cell 5761s because the voltage sag is almost non-existent! It uses safer lithium cells, the same as used in hybrid cars and DeWalt power tools. The batteries are constructed with a POSITIVE ground on the casing and that is opposite of traditional products. To take advantage of the safety engineered into the grounding circuit of the flashlight, this light is constructed so it can be used with a POSITIVE ground. (You can reverse the polarity by putting the batteries in facing the opposite direction but remember the charging jack is designed that the center pin is opposite the polarity of the tail cap.) The light also incorporates a charging jack.

A123 batteries like all batteries require the proper charger and methods. Be sure your charger is rated for A123. Many Radio Control type chargers now charge A123 lithium cells.

This is a used light by my standards. The barrel, switch assembly, and batteries are used but I put new Head, reflector, tail cap and bulb on this light. I am a hobbyist, not a dealer or manufacture. I started with new parts and have not used it beyond a few short trial runs.

$185.00 USD(Last one sold and without the GID switch!)

NEW PRICE FOR THIS TIME BECAUSE OF THE BARREL: $130.00 USD

Buyer pays shipping, USPS and mailing insurance. Shipping is done on receipt of payment, PayPal or certified check or money order. This is a custom modified light, made with used parts. All the components are modified and are not in the original condition and configuration of the manufacturer. While these A123 batteries are considered a "safe Lithium chemistry," the buyer assumes all risks and responsibility to use this light safely and appropriately. This is a private sale and there is no warranty or guarantee. By making this purchase the buyer certifies they are at least 18 years of age and assume all risks and responsibility to use this light and parts safely and appropriately and accepts the light and parts in an "as is" condition.

Have you been following the hot wire threads? Yes, ROP and WA1185 modified lights have traditionally been entry level hot wire lights, now with the discovery of the potential of the Phillips 5761 bulb brighter modified lights and longer run times over the ROP and WA1185 are now a reality. The M85, WA1185 has a following because it was there first but I just had to bring it up again, it is not the worlds brightest anymore. Actual light output from a flashlight, referred to as torch-lumens, is likely in common modified lights to be:
v 5761 at 7.2Vbat. produces 854 torch lumens (1331 bulb lumens)
v 1185 at 10.8Vbat. produces 772torch lumens (1194 bulb lumens)

Am I reading this right - $130 for the whole package? If so, I'll take it

The light as you see it and the two A123 batteries. And I will also sent the matching jack plug so you can hook up a charger if that is what you desire.
I offer no charger just ideas where to get one.
PM coming
