I'm brainstorming a 55W HID project, and am having difficulty locating a reflector supplier.
My goal is a pencil-beam, with no spill/flood. Imagine a small 12V tank light, that you can hand carry for short distances. A 1.5 mile lightsaber is my goal. I am already aware that there are commercially available 35W spotlights that reach up to ~a mile, but I want to surpass that if I can.
So I need a parabolic (I think) reflector dish thats:
-Smooth
-High reflective efficiency, hopefully higher reflective efficiency than commercially available spotlights.
-Heat resistant
-Deep and wide. I would like the reflector to fit inside a ~10 inch diameter tube, but can certainly go smaller than that if it will get the job done.
-It should be able to achieve focus from a standard automotive HID bulb, so a focal length of about .75".
-Beam artifacts and rings are not a concern.
???? Does this even exist?
thanks!!
