I remember a while ago, when some ISP's pulled the plug on several major spam producers, I actually did get less spam in my email, only a few per day. But now seems they are back in full force, I'm getting over 20 a day easily.

Anybody noticed the increased spam lately?

I think you're referring to the shutdown of rogue webhosting outfit McColo (article about it).

Most of the Spam in the world is sent by infected computers that are "zombies" in a "botnet," commanded by bad guys who can rent their botnet out for various purposes, including Spamming. The bad guys had a lot of their botnet command-&-control servers hosted at McColo, so the shutdown helped for a while, but I've seen some recent stats that showed it was only a temporary setback.

I'm only getting one a day on average. Perhaps my ISP is filtering some of it out though.
