SSC with XPG die

This thread is purely speculation. Do you think that SSC will pick up the XP-G die and use it in an existing product or a new one? I would really love a high power high CRI LED with a bit more efficiency than the current P4 one. Cree doesn't seem to be interested in making this.
 
I think supply/demand thing is kicking in, or manufacturing capabilities.

Just look how hard it is to get various select LEDs in various bins/colors now.

Hopefully, we'll see something like a quad-XPG in a single P7-sized package.
Or, maybe a quad XM LED.....

Definitely. There's a distinct lack of high output high CRI (read: >90) LEDs. Lots of vapourware, but no actuals, the closest are some Nichias which are practically unobtainium for us individuals. There are some very nice, fairly efficient LEDs with a CRI in the 80s though.
 
The only 3 I know of with decent output are the Nichia 183's, the SSC P4's, and the new P7's I've yet to actually see.
