I have a Surefire 6P I want to change the incan bulb to LED. Will a P60 drop-in module fit in? Thanks a lot.

Dude you have 83 posts in the forum and you asking whether 6p accepts p60 pills?
Sorry, i don't mean to be a ****.

:twothumbs +1

I found some of the problems:
I voted for this thread to become a sticky and it seems like nobody backed me up http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=186661
This is also a good thread http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=212701
And for all the other problems I prefer not to say anything else :poke:

Sheesh if people didn't ask questions this forum would be full of reviews and new products. Then no one could flex their muscles with how much they know.

A simple, "Yes but for future reference try searching due to the massive database"...

Get over it. People ask questions. Even ones with obvious answers.

I doubt many internet people would act as tough in reality.

I'm far worse in real life! :eek:oo:

(I have to be on my "best" behavior here. )

Standard 6P (I think the surefire super duper attack mode style of crenelated bezels are beyond stupid)
+ Malkoff M60W or M30W (I've been using mine a lot on the job site after dark recently and the more natural tint is soooooooo much nicer to work under it's amazing how unpleasant a blue tinted LED is in comparion)
+ Surefire diffuser (optional but'd would be nice for up close)
+ McGizmo two stage switch (one again optional but having only a high mode can have it's dissadvantages when you need longer run time but only have on light with you.

Almost everyone will recommend you get a Malkoff m-60 drop-in for your 6P. They are the ultimate high quality performer for about $65 plus and the cheap end performer is a DX R2 LED for under $10 delivered. My 6P w/ DX R2 is VERY bright and I am quite happy with it but other people have had occasional problems with their quality.

In all practicality, 80 percent of everything I do (from Police work to midnight hiking) the P60L in my 6PL is plenty.

I am going to upgrade to the M60L because it has the same runtime (4 hours regulated) and almost double (almost, not quite) the lumens.

You might want to consider if you really need 200+ lumens.

I got my first Surefire, a 6P, about a month ago. I decided to get a Dereelight 3SM P60 drop-in module (http://www.dereelight.com/module-list.htm). I'm very happy with it. 3 levels of light, 100%-50%-5%. Most of the time I use 5% for a longer runtime, but it's nice to know the ~250 lumens is there if I need it (I paid the extra $6 to get the R2 option-$41 total ; free shipping). You don't need a special tailcap to cycle through, just either quickly do the momentary press for however many times to you need to get to the level you want, or you can quickly do the tailcap twist the same way. It has a 'memory' mode, so it will always first come on at the same level you last used it on. Dereelight has a good reputation for quality, and for not exaggerating lumens output.

Gene Malkoff's reputation for quality is stellar; I'm trying to find an excuse to buy one of his products for my second Surefire, a 6PL. I just wish Mr. Malkoff made a muti-mode unit!

I do not want to be nasty, but if we look at the original question of the OP and the few responses directly thereafter this thread should be closed since there are already threads on P60 drop-ins and hosts.

This thread has run its somewhat inglorious course, so it can close now. There are other P60 drop-in threads where discussion can continue if necessary.
