Does anyone do Surefire A2 mods? I don't really have anything particular in mind. I have one and it just seems as if it would be a good platform for a better light. Thanks all.

It would be even better if the incandescent was replaced by a nice LuxIII. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I love the incandescent light that my new A2 puts out. Nice warm white. I suppose that my only complaints are that I'd like a better means to lock it out. The lock out feature, while very effective, is awkward and slow to unlock. A digital lockout like the triple click on Mr. Bulk's Li-on Heart would be nice , impractical to implement as a mod though.

I've heard that Surefire doesn't sell the various colored led assemblies as a seperate part. It would be very slick to be able to swap them out. Those new green-yellow leds have my curiousity piqued. I'm also surprised that they aren't offered with UV leds given all the nightclubs that use uv ink stamps not to mention csi type people. I guess it wouldn't be too hard to solder in new leds ,just a little too permanent for my liking.

I'd like a way to use lithium Ion batteries in it also. I guess the regulation circuit can't 'step up' (or whatever they do) the voltage. Anyone know what the problem with pilas/r123's is with this light?

Those are exactly the type of threads that bring McGizmo on the plan with one of his odd mods ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would consider getting one if the body could be bored out slightly to hold a 168s LiOn.
