So one night a few months or so ago I had asked my fiancée what would be the perfect EDC for her (she currently EDC's a NiteCore EX10) and she made the following requests:

- Small. The smaller the better since she has a very small purse (unlike the giant bags that some women call purses).
- Incandescent (or warm, high CRI LED). She really doesn't care for the lack of color rendition from LEDs and likes the incan's warm beam much better.
- Tail stand. She strongly wished for the light to be able to tail stand in order to ceiling bounce the light if needed.
- Miniumum of 15 lumens (65 lumens max). Not real dim, but not super bright either.
- Single or two-mode would be preferable. She currently operates her EX10 without any trouble and doesn't mind it, but prefers the simplicity of a single or two-mode light.
- Non-rechargeable (runs on primary CR123's) and runs for at least 45 minutes.
- Minimal or no knurling.

Well after 1-2 months of purchasing SF parts on CPFMP, her new light is now complete...and follows every one of the above requirements

I present the SureFire "E1eBD" :D:
SF E1e bezel (for it's small size)
SF E1B body (no knurling and awesome clip)
SF E2D tailcap (tailstand ability and looks awesome)
LF HO-E1A lamp (40 bulb lumens for ~60 minutes)
...all in SF HA black :grin2:

This whole SF lego thing is actually pretty fun :p I can see this getting expensive :D. Nowadays when everyone is in pursuit of the latest and greatest million-mode, 900-lumen LED light, we tend to forget how useful a 40 bulb lumen incandescent can be.

On paper, an E1e with its 15 lumens for 90 minutes seems worthless. I remember when I got my E1e (and now this 1-cell e-series lego light) how impressed I really was with its output. For their size, these little lights are actually pretty bright and useful. BTW, this LF HO-E1A is noticeable brighter than the MN01.

Just though I'd share this neat new SF creation with you guys :)

Looks really good.
The E1e bezel is about half the lenght of the E1b Led dual mode. Good combo for a small usefull light.

:eek::eek::eek:

Am I the only one whos REALLY impressed you've got your significant other EDCing...
I'm currently saving to buy a LD10 for my girlfriend... I think my incessant talking about torches all the time is finally getting through!!

Very nice lego by the way...

That is a great looking lego SF!:thumbsup:

Possibly. My girlfriend has been EDC'ing her stock E1B for 8 months now. She loves it.

I really like the look of that E1eBD. Very cool.

I really don't know why Surefire isn't offering something like that off the shelf.
Ability to tailstand and compactness are two rather common attributes for an EDC
The tailcap looks a big oversized for such a small light - would be nice if Surefire would offer a smaller tailstand cap.

Only point I don't like is the non-knurling. I can't have enough knurling, it annoys me that there's a small ring on my D10 without it :p But ok... that wouldn't be a dealbreaker

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I presented the new little light to my fiancée a couple of nights ago and she is thoroughly pleased with it :grin2: If fact, last night she handed the EX10 back to me and only carries her E1eBD now.

I understand your gripe about not having knurling. I have an E1B and it is really slippery at times. I recently put an E2D tailcap on my E1B (just like on this E1eBD), and it really finishes of the E1B. The E1B with E2D tailcap provides great grip without too much knurling to tear up your clothes.

If you don't mind the question, what was the final price tag to build the lego?

I got all the SureFire parts in new condition from various member on CPF Market Place and the Lumens Factory lamp direct from LF. Total came to $99.
One could probably build it for less with used or good condition parts. I imagine that I payed a bit more for all the parts to be new or like-new condition.

The light is basically an E1e with a ~33% brighter lamp. One might say, "But you can get an E1e for ~$65-$80. Why lego one for $99?" Simple...this one has the best bezel, best body (dual pocket clip), and best tailcap (IMO) of all the E-series lights.

How could anyone not love the E series in Black HA??

Awesome SF LEGO goodness. The E1e is so cute and useful that I had to own 3... And those incredible Lumen Factory lamps are the perfect match. Now try experimenting with the rechargeable lamps from LF, your girl will love it.

Looks like I get to go fishing for an E1B body then. :grin2:

Great job on the Lego.
