This is horrible, it's ugly, it's a freak of nature, it should never have been done.SureFire on the Modlite 21700 HOG body with adaptor.

After years of not being interested in flashlights this Surefire EDC1-DFT forced me to purchase due to that insane lux and 18350 capability plus and most important the "simple UI". I have a lot of complexity in my personal life already. Very much irritated by dozens of modes and electrical switches. Back to the old school.......
…
I've been tempted toward an EDC2, but it's on a back burner because, really, the 1-cell model seems just right under the conditions that I carry it.

True, but my main reason for buying an EDC2 would be for the extra capacity, in terms of duration rather than extra lumens, The tradeoff in dollars vs size vs duration strongly favors the smaller light.View attachment 62535
One could put the EDC2 head on a 18350 DF body and get higher output with a smaller form factor. 😁
There you go!
Simplicity and power; EDC1-DFT has become MY EDC, to the dismay of my old Backups.

Life hack: I just opened a new batch of Sabre Red pepper gel; it includes a belt pouch that fits the EDC1 perfectly. I usually carry the spray in a pouch on my cargo pants, and the flashlight clipped into a front pants pocket. Now I have to decide if I want to alter the loadout, and just how o do it.
Life is complicated.
Don't do it! One day, you'll need to grab your P. spray. Muscle memory being what it is, all of a sudden your flashlight will be in your hand. Not good. There you go!

To my unprofessional eye, the emitter appears to be an Osram W1. The head is DF thread, but I don't remember what the tail is. It might be E series as I recall playing around with a different tail cap and I only have E series tails at the moment. What LED do these DFT use ?
Are they E series head and tail threads ?
I love to lego and just want to confirm what tails, bodies, or heads are compatible with this new EDC1 - DFT ( I get mine today in mail)
I'm not familiar with the older L1s, but the tailcap appears to be just a mechanical switch and the mode change is in the head.…
Is the EDC1 - DFT factory tailcap that controls the high and low right? Like the loved older L1's

B&HI'm interested in the EDC1-DFT, any preferred authorized retailers?
Was going to order from Surefire, but I see retailers are lower now.
Any info would be great, Thanks!
I second B&H.B&H
