SureFire EDC1-DFT and EDC2-DFT

Got the EDC1 in grey. Even though I already have an EDC2, all I can say is WOW.
I love this light.

Lemon, ginger, lemon balm, Greek oregano, English thyme, pineapple sage and chocolate mint. And oh, an awesome Surefire 😀

After years of not being interested in flashlights this Surefire EDC1-DFT forced me to purchase due to that insane lux and 18350 capability plus and most important the "simple UI". I have a lot of complexity in my personal life already. Very much irritated by dozens of modes and electrical switches. Back to the old school.......

There you go!

Simplicity and power; EDC1-DFT has become MY EDC, to the dismay of my old Backups.

I've been tempted toward an EDC2, but it's on a back burner because, really, the 1-cell model seems just right under the conditions that I carry it.

Life hack: I just opened a new batch of Sabre Red pepper gel; it includes a belt pouch that fits the EDC1 perfectly. I usually carry the spray in a pouch on my cargo pants, and the flashlight clipped into a front pants pocket. Now I have to decide if I want to alter the loadout, and just how o do it.

Life is complicated.

One could put the EDC2 head on a 18350 DF body and get higher output with a smaller form factor. 😁
True, but my main reason for buying an EDC2 would be for the extra capacity, in terms of duration rather than extra lumens, The tradeoff in dollars vs size vs duration strongly favors the smaller light.
For my purposes. At this time.

Yep, I originally had the 2-dft and ended up letting it go because I just wasn't carrying around the larger light as much as I thought I would. I put it towards a 1-dft and its a much more manageable size for edc with similar specs. The runtime seems more than adequate on the single cell, worse scenario I'll throw a small case with an extra 18350 for those heavy use occasions.

Don't do it! One day, you'll need to grab your P. spray. Muscle memory being what it is, all of a sudden your flashlight will be in your hand. Not good.

What LED do these DFT use ?
Are they E series head and tail threads ?

I love to lego and just want to confirm what tails, bodies, or heads are compatible with this new EDC1 - DFT ( I get mine today in mail)

To my unprofessional eye, the emitter appears to be an Osram W1. The head is DF thread, but I don't remember what the tail is. It might be E series as I recall playing around with a different tail cap and I only have E series tails at the moment.

OSRAM KW CSLNM1.TG (1mm2). It's a great LED.

These lights use the DF/Scout type bodies (18350/18650) which is not compatible with E series.
They can swap tail caps with E series however.

You're in for a treat, it's a fantastic light.

Wow....exactly what I was looking for. The W1 is the throw king per die size (1mm2), at the moment so very surprised vs. say the Nitecore UHi at only 2.26mm2.

I like classic E tail caps and happy to hear it is compatible with those.

Is the EDC1 - DFT factory tailcap that controls the high and low right? Like the loved older L1's

Thank you all,
bigC

I'm not familiar with the older L1s, but the tailcap appears to be just a mechanical switch and the mode change is in the head.

Mine just came in. 🎉

Pictured with Sinn 1736, the only sport dress watch with true Bauhaus inspired design you can put on alligator strap and look good in suit. Pictured below in Tropical rubber strap since this is 10bar rated I take it swimming too.

Adding this DFT to my EDC rotation !

I'm interested in the EDC1-DFT, any preferred authorized retailers?

Was going to order from Surefire, but I see retailers are lower now.

Any info would be great, Thanks!
