Hi,
I currently have a Surefire Aviator A2 which I liked a lot until I realized you could upgrade to a 'portable' sun in your pocket.
So I picked up a G2 (very cheap price) which is brighter than the A2. I bought on ebay (a mistake) a R2 which doesnt work & doesnt fit in the G2.
I really like the A2's clip & metal body. The G2 feels a little cheap but I can see leaving one in each car, so I dont feel like its a waste.
Anyway, While I could buy 2 G2's for the price of 1 C2, I think I like the clip & metal so that might be worth it to me.
Will the R2 bulb last in a plastic G2? Is that just a bad idea?
I could also see going the route of 2x G2's & 2xR2's which could be nice too.
I am not using this for anything but walking the dog (I live in the sticks). I like having loads of light & batteries are cheap enough for my usage (5 minutes or so per night).
I did pick up a 1600 lumen (so it claims) it has 6 R2 bulbs in it. WHile the math doesnt add up, it looks pretty bright.
So will I notice a difference between a claimed Ebay R2 (290 lumens) vs the Battery Junction R2 (225 lumens)? I cant help but think the Ebayer's could be exagerating.
Any advice would be great!
Thanks,
Rich
