I have a Surefire 6P bored to accept the 18650. I also have 3 18650 extentions from Solarforce. I want to use a KT-1 bezel for more throw and incan set-up.

Other than stock, What are the bulb options?

I know IMR has the 1000 lumen lamp for the M6, but what do they have for me. I can run it in 2 rechargeable cell set-up or 3 rechargeable cell set-up.

what are the best possibilites?
I want one lamp for the wow factor and one lamp for 1 hour runtime.:D

Aloha bigchelis,
I have the same set up(s) that you have and both types of AW 18650 batts.
The LF IMR M6 is a good WOW light with the IMR's for 20-25 minutes runtime but also i have run them everytime hot off the charger with no problems .(20 cycles) The other option for long runs and 700 bulb lumens is the HO-M6R that can run off li-co cells for almost an hour. The only problem is when you attach the SLF18650 extenders to the host and use the AW protected 18650's (3) the protection circuits make the batts about 2.5-3mm longer each than the IMR's so the tailcap spring starts to leave marks on the last cell. With 1 extender its ok to run all my 9v bulbs but 2 extenders is too close for comfort for batt longevity and safety for me. So for now i just use the IMR cells for these 13v lamps until i can afford a better host or figure out a spacer fix between extender tubes that is safe and strong enough.I am using the solarforce L2 host body FWIW.For 13v lamps with insanely white light and plug and play reliabilty hot off the charger lumens factory lamps are hard to beat:rock:.

My humble recommendations:

If IMR18650s:
3 cell HOLA: IMR-M6 (~25 minutes runtime)
3 cell LOLA: HO-M6R (~40 minutes runtime)
2 cell HOLA: IMR-M3T (~20 minutes runtime)
2 cell LOLAs: MN15 (~75 minutes), HO-M3T (~40 minutes)

If protected LiCo 18650s:
3 cell HOLA: FM bi-pin MN socket +WA1185 (~35 minutes runtime)
3 cell LOLA: FM bi-pin MN socket +WA1331 (~60 minutes runtime)
2 cell HOLAs: FM bi-pin MN socket +WA1111 (~30 minutes runtime), EO-M3T (~45 minutes runtime),
2 cell LOLAs: MN15 (over 100 minutes runtime), HO-M3T (~60 minutes)

this is not all your options, just some things to think about :)

Wow,
all those will fit the KT-1 bezel.:sick2:
I am not that familiar with lamp set-ups, but remember my camping trip 2 yrs ago I had a 9P with P91 and It had more throw than my current LED set-ups.

I run a Trustfire 18650 in a 6P bored with a P7 at 2.8amp draw. I haven't noticed any side effects using those protected cells. I also have the IMR 16340 cells for my 3P set-ups with this P7 P60 drop-in.

Is it more dire to have 18650's that can handle the amp draw in incan vs LED???????

According to mdocod's li-ion incan guide on 2xIMR18650 you can also use:

"GE787 w/FM bi-pin>MN socket
Osram 64275 w/FM bi-pin>MN socket"

But

"MN16, WA1111, and Osram 64250 are not compatible as they will just instaflash"

As I am looking into a Mag hotwire with this power source, could someone explain how you can use LuxLuthor's bulb test data to see which bipins would just :poof:? Are the Osram 64275 and GE787 the only viable bipin options here? Thanks.

:DI saw some beamshots of the Surefire SF MN20 and I think it would be great with 2 Protected 18650's.

SF MN20: 20W:grin2: Will this make a good wow light. What is the runtime on two cells with this?
IMR-M6 is the 2nd choice for the wow factor.

SF MN21 could work in short bursts according to mdocod. Good to know.

Now for long term use? You folks make it hard with so many options.lovecpf

From mdocod's excellent guide (link in his sig):

Cell configuration: 2x18650

Bulb Options:
SF MN15: 10W, 154 - 103 lumen in 104 minutes
SF N2: 10W, 154 - 103 lumen in 104 minutes
SF MN16: 20.5W, 360 - 215 lumen in 43 minutes
SF MN20: 20W, 300 - 186 lumen in 47 minutes
SF MN21: 37W, 600 - 375 lumen in 15-20 minutes (unprotected cells required, dangerous configuration)
LF HO-M3T: 16W, 280 - 188 lumen in 60 minutes
LF EO-M3T: 18.5W, 322 - 212 lumen in 49 minutes

Thank you all.

I ended up getting LF HO-M6R for practical use of up to 1 hour runtime with 3 AW (red cells) 18650's.

I just realized I only have 1 18650 extention tube at home, the other 3 extention tubes are 2hrs away at my parents house. So, for the next week I will be using it with 2 IMR 18650 cells.

The two AW IMR 18650's can handle the lamp?
I realize the 8.4v will not be enought to get the full potential, but it will it harm the cells?????

Running 2 18650s I recommend the FiveMega 1794. BRIGHT and surprising throw.

Whoops - that's with FM's socket assembly. I need to run my M4 (bored for 18650) against my FM "12P" (with 1794) one night to see which has the throw. The turbohead on the M4 should kick the 12P - but I don't think so....

I got home and I had the Lumens Factory HO-M6R High Output 700 Lumens Lamp Assembly for SureFire M6. It fit the KT-1 perfect. Currently; I am running 3 IMR 16340's which Lighthound website says about 50 minutes of runtime. I just placed an order for another 18650 extention so hopefully this week I can use it with IMR 18650's and run for 100 minutes per set.

When I got the P7 P60 from Gene Malkoff I was impressed. This set-up is totally more radical. It has the spill of P7, but the throw is just amazing.

This is arguably the perfect set-up with the beauty of incan tint, flood of P7, and throw is just insane. Additionally; the runtime is incredible at over 100 minutes on a set of batteries:thumbsup:. I think I found the camping light of my dreams. Everyone should have this set-up. I am still confused as how it could be so bright (300 to 400 lumens) and offer that much runtime. lovecpflovecpflovecpflovecpf

Thank you all for the feedback and the links to fascilitate my selection.lovecpf

On 16340s it will be closer to 10-15 minutes runtime, not sure where they are getting the 50 minutes from, probably a 3x18650 configuration?

From lighthound
Compatible with:
Surefire®
M6 using 6 x RCR123A Rechargeable
Modified M3T/M4: 3 x 3.7V Rechargeable
Runtime (RCR123A): ~35 min
Runtime (3.7V Rechargeable): ~50 mins

LOL: I just noticed it said 6 rcr123's. = 35 min
My guess is 3.7v (3 IMR 18650) would be the 50mins they were thinking.

Yes, I misread it:poke:. At least I understand it now. I was puzzled how the heck that much output could run for so long.. Still 40 to 50 minutes of blinding light is not bad.

This is just incredibly bright. The turbo KT-1 does miracles and even if I only had 200 lumens I know it would be impressive.

Now I got to look for a lamp for the KT-1 that will last for over 1 hour with 3 18650's..

Thank you for allowing me to realize my mistake.

Protected LiCo cells, possibly higher capacity than AW if desired, (I think WE has some 2400mAH, might try luck with TF 2600s as they seem to be reasonable)... Couple that to a FM bi-pin to MN socket, and a 1331, should be a little over an hour. The HO-M6R will also run right around an hour on 3 18650s.
