I bought my first SF. It is the new L1 Cree.

Please, can someone send me some suggestions to attach that lanyard ?
It is different than the lanyard I use in my others lights.
If I attach it to the SF L1, will it scratch the plastic ring that are in the SF body, near the tail button ?

Thanks!

Here's what I'm using. Simple and clean.

HOW do you like your L1?
bright enough?? good beam??
im thinking of buying 1

I dont use a lanyard. In fact I removed the lanyard ring so the light would fit in it's holster.

Since the beam is through an optic it is not nearly as nice as a reflector and what is worse for me is that my L1 beam is not even as nice as on my KX2 which supposedly uses the same optic. Also I have a very sloppy tail cap but SF is sending a new one. If the new tail cap is better I will keep the light, if not I will send the whole thing back to SF for replacement - and hopefully a better beam. As for brightness it's a good little spot light, and a good size for EDC. Maybe I am being too picky but overall my other SF's seem better.

Federal, attaching the clip to the lanyard ring doesn't damage anything. You'll need to clip the lanyard ring onto the light and press the 2 halves against each other until they snap into place.

You can attach the lanyard itself to the lanyard ring like CallMeDave shows in his pic. I don't like the extra split ring, so I take the lanyard apart (insert a small screwdriver into the sides of the black cord-end and pry open), thread the clip directly onto the paracord, and reassemble the lanyard.
