FIRST TIME POST AND NEED SOME GUIDANCE.
I am looking to replace my bulp with an LED lamp. I had purchased 2 cree lamps for my 6P, it worked great but would not work in my dedicated Surefire nitrol handgun light. Do I need a different lamp? or is there no replacement.

Above is the one I ordered. If you cant tell I push the button and it goes on and that is the extent of my knowledge with flashlights.

Could you give us a link for the weapon light?

I presume you mean that the drop-in just doesn't fit in the light? Can you see what part doesn't fit?

It should work... just a matter of making the negative contact. ive had this problem before with the nitrolon series... but there are ways around it. If you don't want to bother with it, ship it here and id be happy to do it for you.

Yes, it does sound like a grounding problem. I use a small piece of aluminum foil to make the grounds tighter in some of my lights and it works great!

Re: Surefire Nitrolon handgun WeaponLight

SureFire's P-Series Nitrolon handgun WeaponLight has a Nitrolon body and a Hard Anodised aluminium alloy bezel so 'heat' is less of a concern.

As for why an aftermarket LED lamp assembly does not work in it, I've not idea.

I would personally using a P60/P61 Lamp Assembly until SureFire release their own LED Lamp Assembly - the P60L.

The drop in lamp will fit in but it just would not light up. The light is discontinued. I dont know if it has anything to do with the way the batteries are set up. the 6p has the 2 batteries stacked on top of each other and the weapons light has them side by side?
The link above will show you a picture of the light..
If it fits but doesn't make contact, you're probably better off than if the situation were reversed.

Compare the stock LA to the drop-in. Look at the two modules, then at the light. Where should the positive terminal of the battery make contact with the LA? How about the negative terminal? The drop-in probably doesn't have its contacts in quite the same locations as the stock LA. See if you can alter the drop-in to move its contacts to the proper location.

It might help to get a side-by-side pic with the two modules (stock and drop-in).

I am still trying to figure this out, I dont know how to attach a picture so I will try an explain. I saw you said something about the ground not being completed and using tin foil? When I look down where the lamp sits I see a metal ring or collar area which looks like it is where the outer ring (spring) on the lamp sits . Then there is a deeper area where the enlongated spring makes contact. I hope this help diagnose my problem..
