I'm searching for a good light I let roll around in the toolbox till needed. I think the Streamlight Syclone might be it, can someone give some feedback on this unit?

Love it!
Perhaps one of the most under rated lights out there.
Mine has been knocked off the table next to my bed probably 100 times onto the hardwood floor. Hasn't hurt it. Streamlight claims waterproof to 100 feet. Mine came with a green LED and it produced a very bright illumination to a large area. Very cool at night time. The krypton is very bright, as well. The large reflector helps the syclone produce a large amout of usable light.

In fact, my version is in the olive green color. This would be my vote to suggest as the military's replacement standard issue light. The head can rotate from straight to 90°.

I really like mine. I have high praises for this light.
The 4AA is a bonus, but at the same time, could be its only drawback. Battery change can take a couple of minutes.

I have not tried the lithiums in this light. Does anyone have any experience using the lithiums in the syclone?

Since there is a rechargable model, I'm betting that it can handle lithiums. After all, I use AA/NiMHy(2450ma/Hr) batteries as primary cells and regulars(Alkies) as back-ups. No more NiCads! What does the beam look like and can it be focused?

I love the smell of napalm (or new batteries) in the morning!
